Hello See below for the latest update
Current priorities in our area:
Actions on our priorities:
1.Drug dealing and antisocial behaviour (ASB) in Eastwood Op Panamanian:
NPT has executed warrants at an address in Hopkins Court, where Class A drugs were seized. A male was arrested and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries. The investigation remains ongoing. We are working closely with partner agencies to reduce the risk of further offending and ensure this issue does not reoccur. Support and safeguarding measures are also being put in place for vulnerable individuals who may have been affected.
2. Drug related crime and acquisitive crime Stapleford Op Techno
NPT officers stopped a vehicle on Derby Road, Stapleford. During a search of the vehicle, a large quantity of suspected cannabis was recovered and seized. The driver was arrested on suspicion of drug offences and has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue. Officers will continue to conduct high-visibility patrols in the area to deter offending, provide reassurance to the community, and identify opportunities to take positive action against those involved in criminality.
3.Knife Crime Prevention Beeston Town Centre, Op Stanley
The priorities for the Broxtowe Neighbourhood Policing Area are reviewed every three months at a multi-agency meeting attended by Nottinghamshire Police, Broxtowe Borough Council, Licensing, and Probation partners. The group reviews crime and intelligence data held by the police, information provided by the Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office, and feedback received through the Notts Alerts ‘What Matters’ survey to identify the issues that matter most to local communities. The selection of local priorities does not detract from other policing priorities at either a local or force-wide level. This priority has been identified for Beeston Town Centre in response to ongoing concerns relating to knife crime and violence. Crime and intelligence data indicate the presence of weapon-related offences, while feedback from partners and members of the public highlights concerns regarding associated offences, including robbery. Through targeted enforcement, engagement, and problem-solving activity, partners will work together to reduce knife crime, prevent violence, and improve community safety within the town centre.
Op Comprehensive Closure The previous priority for Beeston Town Centre, which addressed alcohol-related and youth ASB , has now been closed. The operation delivered positive results, with ASB reducing over the last 12 months. This was achieved through a combination of dispersal orders, arrests, high-visibility patrols, and effective partnership working with agencies providing youth intervention, safeguarding, and crime prevention support. The reduction demonstrates the positive impact of targeted enforcement and problem-solving activity in the town centre.
Shoplifting arrests Two persistent shop thieves have been jailed following proactive patrols and targeted work by Broxtowe Neighbourhood Policing Team officers.
Officers on patrol arrested Kelly Freestone, 42, who was wanted in connection with two shop theft offences. She was subsequently charged with stealing rolls of parcel tape from the Ryman store on High Street, Beeston, on 23 September, and three bottles of whisky from Tesco Extra on Station Road, Beeston, on 6 October. Freestone pleaded guilty to both thefts and to breaching a suspended sentence order. She was sentenced to eight months' imprisonment.
In a separate incident, officers were on patrol on Derby Road, Stapleford, on 13 September spotted Charlie Pearse, 39, who was wanted for a number of offences. Following a foot chase, he was arrested and later charged with a string of shop theft offences. Pearse has since appeared before court and was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment. The arrests demonstrate the value of proactive neighbourhood policing, with officers identifying and apprehending wanted offenders while carrying out routine patrols across the Broxtowe area. Op Burnout – Car Meets Stapleford and Chilwell The main issues reported over the past month relate to approximately 10 incidents, primarily linked to Chilwell Retail Park, with a small number concerning the A52 Bardills roundabout area.
Reported concerns include:
Incidents were reported between 23 September and 19 October, with no relevant reports identified during 4 October to 11 October. Police attended several incidents and carried out positive traffic enforcement activity. However, in many cases, vehicles had dispersed prior to police arrival or no offences were witnessed. Overall, the data indicates sporadic vehicle-related ASB at Chilwell Retail Park rather than a persistent issue. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue to monitor the location and respond to incidents where resources allow, taking appropriate enforcement action where offences are identified.
Motorbikes Police have seized a motorcycle on the City West area. The bike is believed to be linked to some of the anti-social behaviour incidents reported around the Mornington Crescent area. The rider was stopped and dealt with for traffic offences, and the motorcycle was seized due to having no insurance. Neighbourhood Policing Team officers will continue to patrol the area, supported by the Off-Road Bike Team, to deter further incidents and provide reassurance to the community.
Halloween - Dispersal Order Beeston Town Centre A dispersal order has been authorised for Beeston Town Centre and will be in place from 3:00pm on Saturday 31 October 2026 until 3:00am on Sunday 1 November 2026. The order provides officers with temporary powers to direct individuals to leave the area where their behaviour is contributing to, or is likely to contribute to, antisocial behaviour and related disorder. This measure is being used as part of our ongoing efforts to prevent antisocial behaviour, keep people safe, and ensure residents and visitors can enjoy the town centre. Officers will be patrolling throughout the period and will take appropriate action where necessary.
Reporting Incidents All incidents reported to the police are risk assessed by the Force Control Room based on the information provided at the time of the call. This helps officers identify threat, harm and risk, ensuring the most appropriate response is provided and enabling resources to be deployed effectively. Residents are encouraged to report incidents through the following channels:
We continue to encourage members of the public to report concerns and share information with police, as community intelligence plays a vital role in identifying issues, directing patrols and supporting enforcement action across Broxtowe.
